Le Meurice: when excellence meets audacity

Restaurant Le Meurice

The Meurice Palace is famous for combining classism, elegance and audacity. That is also the case for the two restaurants it houses, the Meurice restaurant and the Dali.

The Meurice serves a modern cuisine orchestrated by Chef Yannick Alleno, 39, one of the youngest chefs with 3 Michelin Stars. Alleno joined the Meurice in 2003 when it was a one Michelin star restaurant and brought an extraordinary sense of innovation and creativity. His talent soon earned the Meurice a second Michelin star, before getting the third one in 2007. This ambitious chef has always claimed a sense of rigor and excellence. Some of the musts in the menu include:

–  Scallop Agnolotti With Squid Ink

–  Black Truffle and Steamed Artichokes

– Vinaigrette Dressing

– Poached Duck Foie Gras in a Consomme

– Roasted Lobster Tail Glazed with Britanny Pommeau Cider

– Braised Veal Sweetbread with Chives

– Jugged Pigeon from “Maine-Et-Loire”

Non content with offering one of the best gastronomic experiences in town, Alleno also wants his patrons to live an unforgettable adventure, be it in their plates or in the restaurant itself. He thus made a point of having a room in perfect harmony with his cuisine. Alleno designed himself the plates and closely worked with world-famous designer Philippe Stark when he was in charge of renovating the restaurant in 2007. The decoration is inspired by the “Peace Living Room” of the Chateau de Versailles. The room is filled with huge golden mirrors, classic frescoes, marble columns and large windows overlooking the nearby Tuileries gardens.
